If you would like to apply for AB2766 funding, please complete the Notice of Screening Proposals form for 2025 projects. This form must be received by the District no later than 5:00 PM, July 1, 2024. Postmarks not accepted.

Notice of Screening Proposals Form

The AB 2766 program is funded from vehicle license fees. The program provides applicants with grant money that is used to implement activities or purchase equipment that reduces air pollution from vehicles. Examples of some of the projects that have been funded in the past:

Video Conferencing Equipment
Clean or Alternative Fuel Vehicles
VMT reduction programs
Nevada County web page
CNG Infrastructure
Public Transit Marketing
Bus Stop Shelters
Mass Transit Subsidies

Calculating Cost Effectiveness

Applicants should use the following publication for the correct procedure for calculating cost effectiveness for their project:

Please note: Use the 2020 Emission Factors instead of the outdated emission factors included within the Method for Finding Cost Effectiveness guide.

Important Tips: When submitting your 2-page screening proposal, please show your calculations. Calculations can be attached on a separate sheet. Please be legible. Please show any emission factors used in your calculations and please cite which table you used in the 2018 Emission Factors guide. The District will always check your math, but it goes a lot quicker if we know where you got your numbers. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

What to do After Your Screening Proposal has been Found Eligible

Once you have received a letter from the Air District stating that your Screening Proposal for the AB 2766 DMV Surcharge program is eligible to participate in the Request for Proposal process, then please click below to download the current version of the Request for Proposal Grant Year, 2025.
